As the Kansas Department of Transportation studies potential improvements to the Kansas Highway 10 corridor, it wants the public’s input.

A plan to make Kansas Highway 10 safer and less congested — with options for road widening, an added express toll lane and overpasses or interchanges at Clare and Lone Elm roads — was presented to county commissioners last Thursday as part of a process that state highway officials estimate will result in a decision a year from now.

The possibility of express toll lanes on Kansas Highway 10 was first publicly floated in a presentation to the Olathe City Council last week.

Kansas Highway 10 and its surrounding corridor could look quite different through Johnson County over the next few years.
